habanero and jalapenos

habanero and jalapenos from the garden

Jalapenos aren’t a new thing in my garden but this year I added a new plant into the mix and actually grew habaneros.  As soon as the first habanero was ripe I  picked it and put right into salsa.  With the second ripe habanero I decided that I would try to make a habanero popper filled with cream cheese.  I made some jalapeno poppers and they turned out great so why not a habanero.  One small bite of the habenero was enough for me.  I underestimated the intensity of the heat I was about to experience.  Rather what I mean to say is it was so good it brought a tear to my eye.

Last two weekends

House 1 Comment »

Wow it has been a long time since we posted.  Last weekend we went to see my parents, Mark, Karen and Elijah and took Lauren and Kaleb with us.  We really enjoyed the time with family and all the time we got with friends.  The weekend before we finally removed the 20 plus rose bushes, with a lot of help from Mickey and Jerry (thank you guys so much).  We filled one truck load mostly with the two roses that were like trees and then a garbage can (we filled one just the weekend before with my parents) with the rest of what was cut from the other rose plants.  Here is what it looks like afterwards.  I know it is nothing to be excited about but we are, considering now we are not attacked by them when we go in the back yard., yes when Mike mowed it really was like going into a rose jungle.  We took most of the roses to my parent house that afternoon (road trip) and then enjoyed some great sushi (thanks Lisa and Kim for introducing us to the sushi place).  We also took down the privacy fence(that made no sense) that same Saturday and wow we had about twice the yard.  Okay we had it before but we couldn’t see it so it did not count.  Hopefully we will be able to remove the concrete that you can see in the pictures below and then wow it might actually be a back yard we will spend time in.  Once it is done we wil definately have to have the friends over for a BBQ.  Can’t wait until MAY (maybe it won’t snow or freeze then)!

A movie I am interested in

Christianity, Links No Comments »

In theaters on April 18th. I’m interested in what this movie will stir up. Darwinists are preaching evolution as fact even though it is just their theory. I do believe everyone is entitled to have their own ideas and theories but the prejudice and harsh criticism that scientists and others face for questioning evolution is wrong. Many of these individuals who question evolution are “expelled” from Big Science, resulting in loss of job security, denial of tenure, and banishment from publication in scientific journals to name a few.  We have free speech in every other area of society. Why not here?

New Job

Uncategorized 1 Comment »

I started a new job at the beginning of this week.   It is weird to give up everything that is familiar when you move on to a new place.  Over the past 4 years at my old job I setup all the computers and servers so I was familiar with the way everything worked.  I’m enjoying the challenge of figuring out all of the new stuff.  The great group of people I work with provide non-stop entertainment as they joke with each other.  I miss the people from my old job but sometimes you have to move around for career advancement.
